Animal cell
The nucleua is the largest organelle. It contains your DNA. It acts as the boss of the whole cell telling it what to do.
The mitochondria is a rod looking 2 of them thata look exeactly the same inside the cell. It is called the power house of the cell which means the main role of the cell.
the cell membrane is a very thin 2 layers of fatty luquids. And there is protien to protect the cell interior from the other things inside the cell. It also controls what goes on in the inside and outside of the cell.
The cytoplsam is a jelly like fluid inside the cell.Holds the shape of the cell.
Vacuoles are storrage area for the bubbles to be stored inside the cell.
Endoplasmic is the packing system of the cell. It creates an area for the other membranes to comunicate in. It looks different for the different cells depending on the cells function.
the ribosomes make the protien for the cell. they are like people who construct the cell acid together one by one to make a long chain.
Lysosomes are to diggest things inside the cell. this is to break down the cell when it dies.
Here is what you have to doGO_Venn_cells.pdf 1. Make a new page called 'Kylie's Cells' (whatever your name is's Cells).
2. You will need to choose a plant cell OR an animal cell.
Find out the function of:
-the nucleus
-mitochondria
-cell membrane (cell wall of a plant cell)
-cytoplasm
-vacuoles
-endoplasmic reticulum
-ribosomes
-lysosomes (if animal cell)
-Chloroplasts (if plant cell)
You need a heading for each of the above organelles, and a description (at least one sentence) of what it does. Diagrams or pictures would be good if you can find them. Remember!! Use your OWN words (no cut and paste).
4. Finally - you need to fill in the differences and similairities between plant and animal cells. Show your ideas using this organiser. When it is complete, print it out.
